Volume pedals.
I've tried two different models of Dunlop volume pedals, but they're about 3" high. My problem is, as a novice, my foot is bent back at a very uncomfortable angle and my thigh hits the body of the guitar. If I raise my seat and the legs of the guitar, I then have the same problem with my left foot on the pedals. I've looked in the internet and the options available and most all volume pedals seem to be 2 1/1" to 3" high.
Are there any volume pedals that sit very low, say 1 1/2"? |

Both Hilton and Goodrich make low profile pedals. You can google them for dimensions. |

The Dunlop pedal has a different pivot point than a Goodrich pedal. I noticed that when I tried one. YMMV. _________________ D.S. Rigsby |

I used a Dunlop DVP 1 for a few years with a GFI student, great volume pedal, but a little too high. When I upgraded my PS to a Carter S12, the DV1 was just too high for the guitar with all the problems you mentioned.
So I bit the bullet and bought a LP Goodrich, which works well for the physical set up.
TBH I preferred the smoothness of the DVP 1 but the overall comfort and play-ability from using the LP pedal makes it more practical for pedal steel. _________________ "Nothing can ever be wrong about music" - D Allman

I used to play in Cowboy boots... but had to switch to flat heeled shoes with pedal steel. |
Same here. I was using a Goodrich LDR2 (electric), and my leg was scraping the underside or the guitar. So, I put a 1" lift kit on the guitar. and I also bought a LP Hilton pedal. I have taken the lift kit off the guitar and use the Hilton with cowboy boots with no problem. I can still use the Goodrich, but it is now my backup pedal. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . I used a Dunlop pedal for quite some time. On my two S10's it was no trouble whatsoever. When I got my D10 it did not fit. My knee was hitting the guitar. Before you spend the extra cash on a low profile pedal I wanted to let you know that both a Goodrich 120 and the Hilton at standard height fit FOR ME under my D10 with no problem. I am 5'11. |
