Less than 2 weeks until Christmas Day , I thought you folks might enjoy the photo of a Walnut Single 6 String Rock -N- Roll Guitar I made as a Gift for a Friend, that owns the CNC Mill we use to hog out our steel bodies. I can add more photos if anyone wants to see them.

Thanks fellas , We added this 6 string design to our products earlier this year. They come in right and left play and a variety of wood choices.
That is a P90 pickup in a Humbucker housing, The pocket will fit basically any Hum-Bucker.
Here are a few more pickies -- I've got more close ups ----- There is a lot of detail on this piece.
This one is set up with Open "D" Tuning (DADF#AD)with big fat heavy gauge strings, 23" Scale 3/8 at the nut , variable at the bridge, the P90 is slightly wider than 3/8.
It Rocks with major sustain.

Stephen - Glad you asked.
The FretBoard is Walnut, dyed black with the StewMac product. Next We Laser Etched the Fret Lines and Markers and Trimmed the out side to exacting shape.
This took some experimenting to get the Depths to my liking.
The Fret Lines are Styrene pre-made to exact .060 width glued in and trimmed with a razor knife.
The Markers were another learning curve, being 3 part and getting very small toward the higher frets.
We originally laser-ed Ablam Panels (Abalone Sheets) with undesirable results.
I then changed to a cool material called InLace. This one is Copper Flakes similar to glitter - with the Clear CAB Acrylic Lacquer I use on the Finish to hold it in.
All tediously Tooth-Picked into the holes.
The Edge Band is Cream ABS - from StewMac same as I used to band the entire instrument.
After all of that fun it took a month of 3 times daily clear lacquer and 320 sanding to get the buildup thick enough to completely flat enough to make it Mirror Smooth.
Same deal on the top finish, Zpoxy grain fill, and 3 months of 3 times daily clear coat with Steel Wool to build up the thickness - then 2 months of dry time to harden - finally my 12 step Micro Mesh Micron Water sanding out to 1 micron amazing feel mirror.
This is the same process that Rolls Royce and other high end products do to get their dashboards to standard.
I will describe the making of the body on my next installment.  |

Bosse I can string these up to any tuning , they can handle up to .080 gauge strings. Of course it would help to know what you want.
The way I've constructed the Body helps to defeat Deflection (Bending under pressure).
The main body is a 5 piece sandwich of 3/4" thicnkess walnut -- two planks 5.25" wide on the bottom.
A .020 maple veneer to create a side line for visual effect.
1 -- 5" center plank and 2 side planks 2.5" to create the center of the main body making a true through body main beam neck.
Another .020 maple veneer for a 2nd visual.
Then the top High Figure Walnut 1/4" thickness.
The top planks are 3.5 wide through body center and 3.5" side wings of the 12 star wavy grain super walnut.
All of the linear seams are off set from one another to add strength to defeat deflection.
The entire sandwich is bonded with T88 Structural Epoxy - I get from Ship Building supply for industrial strength.
20 + clamps and a full 100 hours of dry time.
Last but not least -- off to the CNC Router for Hog Out of Shape, Tuner holes, Control Pot holes, Edge Band Channel.
Flip over for the rear control chamber and removal of the excess lower head stock material.
After all of this the hand work starts for another 30 + hours before I start the finish action. 
It is worth all of the Effort, heavy weight, to get amazing sustain, sonic definition and visual excellence.
