I bought my Liquid Blues pedal (by Damage Control...now Strymon) about two years ago. Lately however, the pedal seems faulty....just staying in bypass mode. Sometimes it will suddenly kick in and I am getting the sweet sounding over drive. So I am considering options...getting someone local to fix it, sending it to Strymon to fix, and lastly the option I am looking at: purchasing a Strymon Deco. I can get a $200 credit if I send in the LB pedal. I should add that I have played acoustic for over thirty years before getting my Jason Dumont Rodeo lap steel. This instrument has two custom wound Lollar pick ups. I play through a Princeton Reverb Amp a friend gave me. I really liked the sound with Liquid Blues pedal. But the Deco is smaller and has more options. But my main concern is does the Deco have as much capability to produce "saturation" or overdrive (breakup) as the LB? Mostly I used my lap steel to play some blues in a duo with a friend. I do not have any other pedals at this time. While the LB can produce a wonderful bluesy sound I wonder if I could get pretty much the same with the Deco along with a range of other options. Any input will be appreciated.
