Great find, very cool...
Yes, Hal Rugg on steel, with Fred Newell next to Hal on guitar, and fiddle-great Hoot Hester on the mandolin solo. It's the "Nashville Now" staff band with Hal apparently subbing for Larry Sasser (as he often did). |

Very cool... nice to hear that song again, and with such a great section behind them.
And a tip of my hat to the late Ed Black, who played steel on the record. |

And to you too, Skip, because you also played on "So Rebellious". _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

a wonderful song with that hypnotic quality that so many of Gene's tunes have. Hal's steel is pretty hypnotic as well. wow.
I'm honored to be hosting a big tribute to Gene and Gram Parsons here in Asheville later this week! so many incredible tunes... _________________ 1965 Emmons S-10, 3x5 • Emmons LLIII D-10, 10x12 • JCH D-10, 10x12 • Beard MA-8 • Oahu Tonemaster |

Danke, Joachim.
That album was a fun one to make. Gene was such a sweet guy, and Carla has always been awesome. I'll be doing a gig with her next month. |
