| We are planning to have a benefit show for Kathy Jones,who was injured severely,in an accident that took the life of N.T.S.G.A. pres.,Jan Jones,to help defray medical expenses. The tentative date is Feb. 15th,(Sun.) @ Long Hollow Jamboree in Hendersonville,Tn.,@ 2 p.m. Updates will follow,as we have very little planned right now. Please,keep checking this thread for updates. Thanx. |

Smiley, would love to come down there and see it but not sure till we get closer to Feb, I will however be sending a donation to help out, Life is so darn unfair sometimes ,sure will miss him. RIP Jan. Rudy

| UPDATE As of this printing,we have secured,to perform,Jim Glaser,Jimmy Payne,Leona Williams,Ron Williams,Cathy Coyne,(Leona's daughter),plus a bunch of "local" entertainers. (me included) We also have several items to auction off. Items from Ronnie McDowell,& Travis Tritt. More (hopefully) to follow. (Disclaimer:All talent appearances subject to change at anytime.) PLEASE,come out & help support Jan Jones' widow. |

UPDATE
Jim Glaser's wife has some health issues so,Jim had to cancel. We hope everything will be o.k. in his household. However,we've added Karen Wheeler to the list. Karen's father,Onie Wheeler used to work w/ Roy Acuff's group. Karen's a heckuva entertainer. |

UPDATE
Fund-raiser was very successful. We raised a little over $3000 for Kathy. Auction was a success also.Donations were made by Ronnie McDowell,Travis Tritt Georgette Jones,Lorrie Morgan,among others. Some of the artists that performed were, Leona Williams,her son Ron,her daughter Cathy,Stella Parton,Jimmy Payne,Charlie Barnes,etc. Donations are still open at Bank Of America. UPDATE
Kathy is still in some dire straits financially,because they haven't prosecuted the S.O.B. that slammed into them. Jan's funeral expenses,& her medical expenses have taken most of her savings. she's 70 yrs. old & doesn't work anymore,& her children have helped her all they can.If you will check further up on this thread,there's an address that you can help her out with some donations. Everything little bit will be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you so much. |
