I messed up again. Sorry, guys. I know somebody knows the answer to this:
While using some gorilla snot on my right hand I accidentally touched my bar and the stuff (as it's designed to do) sticks to the bar like ...(well, you know).
I tried just plain bar soap and hot water, but the gorilla snot is undaunted.
What's the trick? Or is it OK to use the bar if they're old(ish) strings and you will replace them soon anyway?
Thanks so much. _________________ MCI D-10 (Curly Chalker's last guitar) Curly's C6th on front neck; Johnny Cox’s E13th on back with E9th pedals.

I'd try goof off or alcohol _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

I agree that alcohol may remove the gorilla snot. If it doesn't, The next thing I would try is Goo-Gone. Goo-Gone will remove about anything gooey. glues, Duck Tape goo and Velcro Glue. Good Luck. |

You guys are freakin' amazing! Didn't try any of the ideas yet, but I will, and let you know. Thank you so so much. _________________ MCI D-10 (Curly Chalker's last guitar) Curly's C6th on front neck; Johnny Cox’s E13th on back with E9th pedals.

Dump the Gorilla Snot for something more reasonable that doesn't leave a mess and is non toxic.
I'm using "StiknPick" which looks like a tube of chap stick. I tried the liquid "Sticky Picks" but its not as convenient and what I had lost its stickiness after about 6 months.

I have said it before but here it is again. If you use John Pearse Hi Riders all your problems with picks will go away. |

Earl, I think Gorilla Snot is a polyurethane or silicone adhesive. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

The John Pearse picks do not work for me. I've tried various finger picks with higher or extra wraps but none did it for me. |

Alcohol worked fine, thanks again (sounds like a country lyric). _________________ MCI D-10 (Curly Chalker's last guitar) Curly's C6th on front neck; Johnny Cox’s E13th on back with E9th pedals.

Yes, try whiskey. If that doesn't work, drink the rest and don't worry about the Gorilla Snot. Of course, if you drink enough of it you will start looking for the gorilla... |
