I have a Fender 1000, double 8. I need tuning keys, as two of the ones (in the strip of 4) are stripped. I would like to replace the four of them, two for each neck. If anyone can help please do.

Do a search for the word 'lollipop' in the Steel Without Pedals section. There are a few threads that show you how to replace the tuners cheaply. Basically you pull the tuning pan and replace the existing strip with a strip of 12 string guitar tuners. The 12 string tuners come six to a strip so you just have to cut two of them off and solder the strip of four onto the tuning pan. You can get a strip of 12 string guitar tuners from a local instrument repair shop or order them from Stew-Mac. |

If you have the lollipop tuners, it's not that easy to slip in a strip of tuners. There is no slot in the tuner pan. There is just a hole for the tuning pegs. |

The Fender 1000 has the Stringmaster style pans with the slots. Should be a piece of cake to replace the tuners. |

Lollipops can be done w/o slotting the pan but it's a bit of a job (one that I happen to like ) |
