Hi,

My new CD project has made some significant progress, as I've recently managed to get time, inspiration and concentration to coexist in a nice symbiosis. The tune that I have recorded this time is "When Eyes Speak", a jazz ballad composed by Swedish bass player Christian Spering. At the Jazz Room, ISGC'11, I performed the first version of an arrangement of this tune for pedal steel guitar.

I'm playing this on my 10-string Desert Rose "Delta Blues" (C6th tuning), exclusively using the Tonealigner "neck" pickup.

On this recording I'm very proud to have the excellent Bob DeBoo on acoustic bass. Bob is, as many of you already know, a member of the ISGC Jazz Room rhythm section.

Here's a sample of the raw mix of the recording:

Best regards,

-- Jan

Thanks Harry!

You're correct: I rarely play the E9th tuning, and when I do it is not in a country music setting. I believe Danny has me mixed up with someone else in that context.

Cheers!

I love it, as well as other cuts of you I've heard! Very clean, thoughtful lines, burning when it's time, relaxing into it with a lovely melodic sense. Any jazz player could be proud of your approach, not just steel players.

Well done!
