I did a demo of the B9 Organ Machine and it is a fun effect. I have not tried the C9 unit but viewed a few youtube clips and that unit sounded nice.

IF I were to buy one of these (it would be an impulsive desire for a new toy--I have FX up the wazoo and no particular itch for this one at the moment)--I would be thinking that while the B9 gives you a lot more organ options, the C9 provides enough B3 options to cover that area (run into a good Leslie sim) and provides some intriguing other sonic stuff such as Mellotron.
I had marveled at the B9 demos but it was the C9 that got me closer to hitting the BUY button. |

I have played Jim Palanscar's rig a coupla times (I get down there every few months these days). He has the B9.
I was doing a pretty convincing Oye Como Va on his rig while visiting last week.
But my advice to you would be to bring your credit card to Guitar Center and buy both... you have 30 days to return one, or both, after fully running them through the paces with your own rig.

yeah I'm still on the fence about buying one. Not sure realistically how much I would use it. Looks very cool tho, thanks for the opinions.

I grabbed a used B9 to play with recently.
They're not true bypass and are quite a tone suck when off.
I have a couple things I want to use it for though, so I'm thinking I'll put together a bypass looper. |

| Karen... give a POG and HOG a try too... the 2 series better than original but more expensive too. These pedals are more expensive than the B3 or C3 but show on craigslist etc for decent prices. |

I have a B9 and it is an indispensable part of my setup. In fact, for me, no purchase has had a bigger impact than this. I love it and so do the bands I play with. It's sound is so realistic it's a head-turner for everyone.
It takes a bit getting used to. In my opinion, it doesn't react well to bends or slides and sounds best when padding or comping chords. Single note lines sound good but, again, some things dont work or sound well Also, you have to guard against overusing it. A little goes a long way.
Really, of the multiple organ or sound choices in the pedal, I just use 1 or 2. Most players are like that. I can't comment on the C9 although I'm perfectly happy with this pedal.
Some don't like the B9 (or C9?) because it doesn't have a variable ramp up Leslie effect or control. You know, where you can simulate the speed of a Leslie's horn. That's true but that isn't a big loss to me. |

If you really want a Leslie effect.. the best pedal i have ever heard was the Hughes and Kettner Rotosphere..
A one trick pony, but wow, what a trick if you want your steel to sound like a Hammond!
