I doubt if there is a book solely devoted to Fender steel guitars, but can anyone recommend to me a book that covers Fender steels the best ? Mostly interested in the non pedal steels but anything would do.
Thanks in advance

First, I'd recommend ....

Second, Forrest White's book isn't perfect, but there's some interesting history told on a more personal level ....

No, but there should be. It would be great if A.R. Duchossoir would undertake a project such as this. His book Gibson Electric Steel Guitars 1935-1967 is both beautiful and informative.

Agree with Andy about Richard Smith's excellent Fender: The Sound Heard Around The World. It has lots of info about Fender steels, and nearly everything else about the company. A truly great book.

Thanks Larry for posting the question, and Andy for the answer. I've been wondering the same thing.

Would anyone recommend a book on Fender amplifiers?

I suppose I should post this in the amplifier section.

I checked out a book from the library a couple of years ago: Fender, The Golden Age 1946-1970 by Kelly Martin. It Had a lot of info & pictures of guitars (including steel) amps and advertising.

You're welcome. Smith's book is definitely the one to own. He has a passion for the house of tweed and there are hundreds of great photos and graphics.
