I love the single not approach he uses on "When You Come Back Down" and "My Love Follows" (#1 and #5 cuts). I could play along with these songs all day. And the tone is to die for.

The syncopations he uses from note to note really add sparkle and life to the songs.

Got to love this stuff.

Larry,
Many strive to get "Gary Carter Tone". Much easier to get the tone than the talent. You can purchase the tone.

How you get the talent. . . beats me.

First saw him play at the Philadelphia Navy Yard when he was 14. Gary with his sister on lead guitar, sounded note-for-note very close to Buddy and Leon. Incredible at 14, incredible today, That's Gary Carter.

Best regards,

I’d love to hear him more, because since the Lighthouse Tale, he’s become one of my favorites...

I agree with Larry and others, Gary Carter is the most under-the-radar phenomenal player in our day. Consider his great CD as a Xmas gift for your steel playing friends and family!

I first became aware Gary's playing when I stumbled onto his Lighthouse Tale video on YouTube. Wow! It totally knocked me out and blew my socks right off! I've since listened to a lot of his stuff and I really respect and admire him. His tone is delightful and his technique and intonation are to die for. His ideas and musical approach are refreshing. I totally agree with the laurels and praises expressed by others; Gary is simply fantastic! Very Happy

This cd contains the best quality of recording I have ever heard. I don't even need to mention the level of talent that Gary possesses, as this goes without mention! He has such a unique approach, phrasing, it's soley his own. I would love to stand next to him and try to decipher exactly how he does what he does.

I love his playing on the Marty Stuart show. He plays on red, red wine and cheating songs and really just has a killer tone and plays some great licks. Its the first song of the show on the same show that Vince and Paul are on.
