After a few months of having my Lil Izzy I have to say it sure has made a difference in my sound. If it would make me play better I would buy a bunch of them. Craig Baker makes and sells this product and what a fine man he is. I realize it is not for everyone but I have seen players using the product including pros. Thanks Mr. Baker for making this product again. I bought an Izzy Plus in 1981 at the ISGC and immediately fell in love with it. Years later it went out and Mr. Baker had quit making them so I was delighted to see him making the product again. I for one am a happy steel player with this in my bag. |

I've had Brad Saron's BB for several years. Works great, as everyone says. A few week's ago I bought, or maybe adopted, Izzy. It works great too! And its small enough to carry in my suitcase when I travel (which is a lot), along with my short 6-string Guyatone.
When I'm home, I run direct out of the guitar through Izzy, thence to the BB, and on into the amp. Why not, they're both sitting around not doing anything else. Interestingly enough the vari-Z on the BB still works.
Too much of a good thing? Is all that really necessary? Probably not, but as my old granny used the say, "it couldn't hurt!" |

John, have you tried running the Izzy coming out of the volume pedal? _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Lane, your BB Vari-Z works with the Lil Izzy in front of it? My BB is pretty new model and the Vari-Z will not work when I go guitar > BB > volume pedal.
It would be convenient if it did, but it is not a big deal. I have tone control on the guitar and the amp. (I don't like using the guitar tone control. It seems to me that it sucks some of the tone out of the guitar)
Brad Sarno, any idea as to why it works on Lane's but not on mine? |

Correction: I have Izzy. Do not (yet) have Black Box.
I was just suggesting the Izzy on the output of the pedal. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Lane, this CRS is driving me nuts. It was John's post that mentioned that his BB Vari-Z works with his BB not yours. Nurse, can you take me back to my bed, please. |

George: logically you'd think it shouldn't work. I have been known to hear things, or not. I'm out of town but will try it again when I get home.
Lane: Haven't been using the vp lately so can't answer that one. I do remember a thread on the Izzy not too long ago that talked about that and using Izzy and BB together. |
