Does anyone know of someone that works on pedal steels in the Oklahoma City area? I bought a used one a while back that I thought just needed to be cleaned up a little. Turns out most of the pedals where either not hooked up or not hooked up correctly (the down side of buying online but around here there really aren't any other options).

I have tinkered with it as far as I can get and am just out of my depth. Shipping is out of the question. It just isn't a nice enough instrument to pay shipping and repairs on it. I need someplace I can drop it off reasonable close.

I found a place online (Spirit Steel Guitars I think)in Broken Arrow but no one answers the email and the site doesn't look like it has been updated in a while.

The wife is on me to fix it or sell it.

Any suggestions?

What kind of guitar?
James Morehead, who you can find easily enough, live in Prague and will likely either know how or know who.

You might send a PM to Ken Collins. He's very steel guitar saavy. If he's not doing any work, contact James Morehead. Ken is closer to the metro.

Spirit Steel in Broken Arrow is out of business. Ken Collins in South OKC. is who I bought my Emmons from, and it still plays as good as it did 9yrs. ago, when I got it. He knows what he's doin'.

Judson, if you don't get a resolve let me know. My daughter lives in Moore and makes frequent trips to Dallas. She could bring it to me, I've rebuilt and repaired several.

And I will be in Moore During Thanksgiving week if you need a hand still.

Let me know. Pm or email

Thanks Bill. I emailed Ken but I haven't heard back. If I haven't heard anything I may drop it off with you at Thanksgiving. I have some friends in Dallas I need to visit anyways and I could come pick it up around the end of December.
