We were sitting next to the guy who probably filmed these and he got everybody that day so hopefully they'll all be up to view. Eddie's been sounding better than ever before since his scare with the big C. The only bummer of the day was the dumb MC who refused to back off the mic. |

Ron,
Was Frank M at this show with you? I'm thinking that the Fender is one of two that Frank sold to Jeff.
I'd like to get Frank to check out this video but I
don't know if he will.

Jeff does a fine job on Hawaiian Hula Eyes. His vocal is excellent. The steel guitar parts are very tasteful as usual, but some audience need vocals to relate to the music. Anyway, it makes for a more rounded performance than the steel solos we all love.
Great work! _________________ Don't go in the water after lunch. You'll get a cramp and drown. - Mother. |

FnD were right next to me enjoying the steel fest, and yes that's one of two Miller tri's that stayed in Hawaii with Jeff and were sounding great, the Choco maybe slightly the better of the two. No doubt he'd like to hear it all again as he makes do with his Rick single 6er. |

That was fantastic. First time I have seen Jeff playing on 3 necks. Eddies playing beautiful also.
RON. You were there, who else played that day?

The only one of real mention other than Jeff that day was Bobby Ingano, he always stands out. The surprise highlite of his set was his family driving by behind the outdoor stage and making it known.
The hidden star of the show was one of Jules' Magnatone 2x8, again sitting unappreciated much in the display area. That thing should get stage action every year!
But Byrd nesters Alan Akaka, Greg Sardinha, Casey Olsen, I think were all there, as always a number of Alan's students, and budding mini star Mali'e Keawe-Lyman typically nailed the crowd, so a good time was had by all when not having our ears blasted by the announcer guy. |

That was indeed Frank's Stringmaster - the same one Barney used on the final "Hawaii Calls" (or "Sounds of Aloha," I suppose) radio shows in the 1990s.
Jeff used the same steel on a gig we did together in Honolulu a few months ago.

I often wondered how the Hawaiians got to playing Yellow Roses.(?)
That was an old Hank Snow tune from the late 40s or early 50s...
Jeff is at the top of his game these days !! |
