I am going to have a 1x15 extension cab built. My question is, is there a standard dimension for a 1x15 cabinet?
I didn't know what to tell him since I know bass cabs and guitar cabs can be different, so I thought I would ask the forum.
Also, what are your opinions on open-back vs semi-closed or closed? I will be using it with my Silverface Bassman Ten, that I split into a head cabinet a while back.
I appreciate any help, basically please help me build a good cabinet.
Thanks,
Daniel |

There is no standard for any cab for any speaker.
If it's closed-back, you can use WinISD to design a cabinet. You'll need the Thiele-Small parameters for the speaker you will use. |

I'd make it the same width as your bassman head, with a recessed handle (or put it on the side), and do closed back with removable panels, like the little walter cabs. |

Just contact Rick Johnson if you need a cabinet.
He knows just what is required. |

While Les and Erv speak truth, the Tommy Huff closed cab with SICA 15 is my Super Twin Reverb transducer of choice. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
