The '54 guitars had pushbuttons... yours is later. With that case and tuners I'd say '68. Looks to be in real fine condition.

As has been discussed here recently, you can't tell a Fender steel guitar's age from the serial number using a website. As has also been discussed here recently, the age doesn't affect value much. Condition and completeness matters a lot more than pre- or post-CBS.

One of the member kindly sent me a private mail in which my fender steel was made in 1960s. I, hereby, make correction on that point.

Ted, It's been a few years, but I'm quite sure that you bought this excellent condition T-8 from me. Forum members may remember that I posted some pictures of this guitar here a few years ago. It was in mint condition at that time, and it still looks very nice! As I remember, the pots are dated 1967. I was the second owner of the guitar. The first owner was an elderly woman in the midwest who bought the guitar in the 1960s and never learned to play it, so it was basically unplayed when I got it. I had it for about five years and I didn't play it much either because I had so many other guitars at that time. It still looks very clean! A beautiful Stringmaster! Ted, you can add the other pictures you posted to this thread to keep all the pictures together. Best of luck with the sale.

Price reduced to $2,100 plus shipping cost of $50 since it was identified as not 1954 model.

The key for the case is missing.

Just out of curiosity is the price based on the current going rate for such guitars? Not judging, just curious. Thanks.

The present rule of thumb (IMO) is $750.00 per neck for Fender Stringmasters in very good to excellent condition.....a Stringmaster D8 was very recently sold here for $1500.00.......so I would say that this is a very fair market price.......I would be happy to buy this, if I didn't own several of them already.....

FYI: I posted some beautiful pictures of this guitar on the Forum seven years ago. You can see them here ---> http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=105675

Keep in mind that the pictures were taken in 2007. Ted, I hope you mind me posting this. If so, let me know and I'll delete it.

Doug, thank you for additional pics you posted.

I will include my hand made nuts as shown in the pic. They were mounted until I decided to sell this time. If you are the Stringmaster player, you would like those nuts.
