From the Jan Mulder YouTube video of Buddy live at the 2007 ISGC.

You’ll notice on Buddy’s copedent that his “A” pedal does not raise string 10; he’s got the whole-tone raise on a knee lever. He also lowers string 10 a whole tone on another knee lever.

Most intermediate and advanced players will have the pedals and levers needed to play this version of “Shenandoah,” i.e., the second-string raise, and the sixth- and ninth-string lowers. But I’m guessing far fewer pickers have Buddy’s tenth-string set-up; I know I don’t. So I’m penciling in those changes in measure 10 on page 5 below, which is a real shame because his subtle use of these changes makes for one of the most beautiful passages in the song IMHO.

I did find a workaround for the 10th string IV-I ending of the song but just couldn’t make it happen in this section.
