I normally put these things in a final response on the "for sale" ad, but it was already closed.
Jack Stoner is a guy who clearly knows how to package for safe shipping.
I bought a pair of (barely used) split cases from him, and they arrived, over-packed, and safe.
I wish I'd thought to take pictures as I unwrapped, but I wanted to get it done before the UPS guy left the neighborhood.
Each case was wrapped in bubble-wrap, securely taped (darnit, not gonna be able to reuse it easily), and then wadded kraft paper took up the voids between case and the walls of the cardboard boxen the cases were in.
BECAUSE he properly prepared for shipment, although the boxes showed the signs of having fallen from the cart, these cases look like they coulda been made by Kevin Hatton last week.
Good guy to deal with, AND he knows how to package a shipment.

Thanks, Lane. I try to "overpack".

I used to Manage a computer network and we shipped computers and parts out, all over the Midwest from KC. I had FedEx and UPS Federal accounts. We never had damaged contents as everything was "overpacked".
