Hey Guys,
I'm not the best steel player, but I really enjoy it and for some stupid reason am always on the lookout for steels on (Craigslist, garage sales, etc..) even though I have a great resonator, Pedal, and 6-string Lap.
Anyways ran across an 6 string Gibson EH-610 for under $250. It looks like it's been modified a few times, but is still functional. Is there any reason to own one of these? Anything special about them?
Thanks,

In the pedal steel category, anything that works is probably worth a couple of hundred. These aren't in demand as a collector's item, though a mint one might demand $400-$500, but it's probably good enough for a lead player to horse around with as an introductory "table axe". |

Thanks for the input.
I was temped to buy it and just strip away the tuners and electronics for a home-made lap I made a while back, but this seems like it may not be worth the effort.
Thanks,

Oops, I misread the model number.
That is really cheap. If you are in need of a console steel, why not buy it? Just don't use the pedals. How many console steels are that cheap? |
