Next Sunday is our monthly club meeting at the Muldrow Music Row, in Muldrow, OK. Starting time is 1PM and we will go until 4PM. Food will be available from Garry's kitchen at reasonable prices and the picking should be good.
Harold Van Brunt is in charge of the Oct. meeting and should have some good things to teach as well as demonstrate. Larry Goodwin and the band will be there. Let us know if you will be able to join us on the drums, Clark.
Normally we would have a concert for our November meeting date, so we will discuss whether it will happen or whether we will have a surprise leader for November. For questions, call Ron 479-650-7676 or Jerry 918-520-1048

Get ready to discuss and play intros and endings, "knowing your guitar", pickup design and sound and be ready to play and learn some different songs with Harold Van Brunt. |

Twas a good day for club meeting. Beautiful weather and all. Harold spoke to us about differences in steels and gave us a bit of his history and he had me tell a bit about making pickups. Next, he had us each share a favorite introduction with a chance to learn it. After playing a few different songs than the ones we usually play at the meetings, which stretched our abilities, we took a break, had some food and went right back to sharing and playing some of the favorite licks that we use. It was interesting to play them slightly different than we might normally do. Ron shared his version of Blue Jade, which we had to learn.
Thanks to all and the band for your support. |
