butterfly tuners

does anyone know what years that Emmons put butterfly tuners on their guitars? I know for a fact that they came out on 1981 push-pulls, but what other years were they on the guitars? is it my understanding that these tuners were exclusive to Emmons guitars only, and that is why they are so hard to find?
