I'd imagine your best bet is with a Fender-style single coil like the Duncan Antiquity. If you want humbucking you should run a matched pair, like a Stringmaster. Zum used to offer a pickup that mounted in front of the built-in p/u with double sided tape. A little switch box was used in the out jack of the steel and it had a switch to switch in or out the add on p/u. I've used mine off and on for years. PF had two p/us on his two-toned red/natural axe for years to get the out of phase or strat sound. |
