Need to sell, make an offer, don't let this beautiful Black mother of pearl inlay, Zum get away. This Guitar sounds awesome and looks even better, Sn D1085769. played very little and has no issues. I will consider all cash offers. and possible trades. Glen

| Rick, good question's, the C pedal rod was not installed properly Readjusted and works fine. The Emmons switch was installed by the previous owner and works better than the original. May I ask what you did to your face and why? Glen |

That's awesome, Rick. My grandaughter's middle name is Maori, and yes, her father is a tattoo artist. Did you happen to work on the movie "Ender's Game?"

I owned this guitar at least two owners before Glen and the Emmons Switch plate was on it when I got it. It worked great and I liked it very well.
I thought this guitar sounded and played very good.
The pictures don't show it well but the "v" design on the front is actually perloid and it's quite striking.
I only traded it because I had a chance to get a newer D10 Zum and my wife has capped my steel collection at 2. 
Whoever gets this one will be happy.

That is one sweet guitar. I have two Zum's and they both are wonderful guitars. I bet this one is a "humdinger" which is Arkie for absolutely great!
I will not "nitpick" it but I would be happy to "pick" it anytime.

I guess it doesn't matter who answers the question concerning the E9th pickup. I believe it is a Bill Lawrence 710 which is at the top of my list of great humbuckers. I have 710's on an 81 pushpull and on a LeGrande II and like them a lot. The 710 might be the most widely used humbucker though the 705 has become quite popular in the last few years after going pretty much un-noticed from about 1977 until the 90's and even more so in recent years. There is another Bill Lawrence pickup with the same appearance as the 710 but I will let someone else give that information as I have no experience with it and not sure of it's model name. If it is a 710 then it is a very good humbucker pickup and I bet an excellent match for this guitar. I believe Gary Carter with Marty Stuart show uses 710's on his Zum.

The other pickup that looks similar to the 710 was the 910 pickup. Bill made those to mellow out the tone of the 710's. The 910 does not have quite the high end or brilliance that the 710 has. Keep in mind it is not a bad pickup just mellower. Originally used by Hal Rugg on his Zum.

The 710 and the XLR16 look exactly alike both with a double row of magnets. The 910 is similar but only has one row of magnets down the center. I could not think of the XLR16 when I did the earlier post. Your E9th pickup is either a 710 or XLR16. Both are very good but I don't know the difference but I suspect the 710 is a little brighter than the XLR16.

You are absolutely correct. I believe the XLR 16 was a difference between the tones of the 710 and the 910. The XLR is the one I believe that Hal had built.

In Fact, back when I owned it, Jack was the one I got it from, so Buddy, that is your handy work.
