I have just been talking with John Norris of Peterson Electronics (makers of the worlds foremost line of strobe tuners) and I have been afforded the opportunity to be (probably) the first pedal steel player to test out the new V-SAM electonic tuner with onboard presets for E9TH and C6TH tunings-Though John does not play steel-from our conversation it appears that he is quite aware of the different makers of steels some of their related design characteristics and the various problems that we as players of these mechanical contraptions deal with in effort to consistently play and stay in tune-I look foreward to meeting with him within the next week or two as the first of these models are just now coming off the assembly bench-I will report my findings afterward for all those Forumites who may be interested in this-I feel that this new tuner will likely become a "must have" item for many of us in the near future And I am anxious to view in person the operations by which these famous electronics are manufactured just a hop, skip, and a jump away from where I live! |

I too have one waiting for me. I am very anxious to hear your reports. I heard yesterday that the release date has been moved to May 1st, I am somewhat concerned over what the hold up is. Please keep us informed.

Will those of us who use other tunings, like B6 or universal tunings be able to use or adapt to this device? |
