Andy, thanks for posting this. I love the version he did of this for the magazine Fretboard Journal. Its cool to hear it with steel. Very Happy

Andy, all thumbs up for the alert on this colab of Greg and Bill's and on a Brian classic. Greg's playing is a fave. Bill's soulful fingers on a dream song. Nice meeting of the minds on this, guitar and steel.

Been excited about this album for a while. Love when Frisell is doing this style of thing. My 4 month old loves this song too. It will quiet her down almost instantly.

Smile Howdy! Gosh, that is a great one! A good slow dance tune as well! May there be many more to come! Always, Gene

If you need more Frisell and Leisz playing Surfer Girl (as well as other songs), you owe it yourself to check out the Live in Chapel Hill recording available for download/purchase at Bill Frisell's website. It's a frequent listen on my part. Steel and guitar duets - highly recommended!

I saw Bill & Greg live in Denton, TX a couple of months ago and was knocked out. The pure musicality was off the chart. Greg's 6-string playing was fantastic as was his steel. Frizzell is my favorite 6-stringer bar none.

Run, don't walk to hear either, or both of them play if they come near your town!
