This is a photo Ralph Kolsiana gave me that's never before been published or put on the web. It's from the 1946 Christmas party at Don The Beachcomber's restaurant in Hollywood. Ralph on his double-neck National steel, Max Reid on bass, Joe Ortega on Rhythm guiitar and Danny Santos on 2nd Rhythm Gtr. and vocals.

Great picture, Andy!
Here in SoCal, Don the Beachcomber (formally Sam's Seafood) in Sunset Beach, has been recreating a throwback to that era of 30's & 40's supper clubs.
Their bi-monthly "International Tiki Marketplace" features Hapa Haole musicians "The Smokin' Menehunes" featuring Vocalist/Uke player Pat Enos.
Pat was a close friend and student of Bill Tapia.
Kevin Bullat on steel, Lucas Vigor on bass.

Enjoyed many a meal and sunset from Dons in Kona at the Royal Kona Resort. They rarely have music there though. Thats what was missing.
