Just curious if there are other forum members who also belong to the banjohangout.com forum or to the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society ? The banjohangout forum is pretty active and a nice resource for banjo players, but the CAAS forum activity has dwindled a lot over the years since Chets passing, but still a lot of knowledge and experience over there. Bluegrass banjo is another interest of mine besides steel and guitar. _________________ Zum Encore, Remington D8 non pedal, Hallmark Mosrite clone, Gretsch 6120 DSW, Gretsch G5210T-P90 Electromatic Jet Two 90,1976 Ibanez L5, Eastman archtop, Taylor Dreadnaught, Telonics pedal, Squire Tele, Squire Strat, Fender Tonemaster, Gold Tone 5 string banjo, Little Wonder tenor banjo, 3 Roland cubes 30s and 80, Carvin combo bass amp |

Hey, Larry...I'm on the Banjo Hangout. I play 5-string, tenor and some plectrum. I spent years mainly on the 5, especially learning Scruggs note-for-note. Lately, I'm spending more time on tenor. And I've got plectrum on my mind.
And I love to hear Chet, of course. And others who play that wonderful style.
What are your banjo interests?

I'm on the Banjo hangout.Haven't been on the site in a couple of years.Maybe I should go there more often for I'm a much better banjo picker than a steel player. My steel playing pretty much sucks.Working two jobs and my grandchildren doesn't allow much practice time.My three granddaughters are much more important to me than a steel guitar will ever be. |

Andy
, i would say you have your priorities right ! As for me i dont have any grandkids, so for me its just pick pick pick...doubt if i will ever have any...who knows
Andrew my main interest in banjo is scruggs style...i played four string tuned to a guitar, but really never worked that hard, and i love clawhammer, but again, never worked on it enough to get anywhere...scruggs style,,,i worked on it a lot for twenty five years...was decent, not pro level....i mostly play steel and guitar these dqys...if i dont spend 6 hours a day on steel, i feel like i wasted the day...haha...just ordered another banjo to occupy some more of my day . Bought it from a guy on the banjohangout...good banjo community just like the steel guitar forum is to steel players _________________ Zum Encore, Remington D8 non pedal, Hallmark Mosrite clone, Gretsch 6120 DSW, Gretsch G5210T-P90 Electromatic Jet Two 90,1976 Ibanez L5, Eastman archtop, Taylor Dreadnaught, Telonics pedal, Squire Tele, Squire Strat, Fender Tonemaster, Gold Tone 5 string banjo, Little Wonder tenor banjo, 3 Roland cubes 30s and 80, Carvin combo bass amp |

Larry:
I on the hangout about every day as well as the fiddle and dobro. I think I is fun to convert steel tunes to banjo. I play a lot of chromatic stuff on both. Try Little Rock Getaway, A- Train , Lady Be Good, and raisin the dickens with a bluegrass or country band.
