I just got a Pro-II custom with narrow/smooth pedals. The fitting on the pedal for the pedal rod can be closer or farther from the pedal bar.

Please share your insights on leverage matters as well as what is the most common arrangement. I seem to remember on the Super Pro I sold some years ago that I had them all on the closer to the pedal bar slot.

Thanks . . . . . .

I don't know which is more common, but the hole closest to the pedal bar will give you an easier and longer pull, while the ones further away will give you a harder and shorter pull.

Doug, on an Emmons from the center of the pedal axle to the center of the pedal rod fitting it is two inches.

Doug, FWIW, I've got my pedal rods nearest the pedal bar on my 6139. May not be right for everyone, but after a year on a partially seized up Marlen(which I love & still have) I wanted a guitar that didn't resist when I mashed them suckers down!

If it helps, I have a Pro II Custom as well. The way the guitar arrived, every pedal save for 4 and 5 is using the back hole, farthest from the changer. Which reminds me, 5 feels a little stiff for my tastes.

Ian,
I believe Doug is asking about the
option on the floor pedal itself, at
the bottom end of the pedal rod, and
not the option at the 'pedal crank',
at the top end of the pedal rod.

Hey Russ, I am indeed talking about the pedal connectors at the pedal. There are 2 positions to attach the ball joint on that particular Sho-Bud.

Ian,
Gotcha . . when you said 'farthest from the changer', I thought
you must've been referring to 'within the cabinet' area rather
than down around the pedal rack area.
Many of the various Sho~Bud pedal crank designs did
have two holes, either of which could recieve the
'hook' of the pedal rod.

Let's split the difference! I think I said "changer" out of habit, when when what I meant was pedal bar. Apologies for the confusion. Carry on.
