My "customized MSA" is busting 3rd strings about every 2 weeks. I average practicing 3-4 hours a day. The string span from the tangent at the rollers at the tuning keys to the tangent at the changers is 24.25 inches. Maybe a bit (.06) more. Is this unusual for an MSA? I heard some other brands tried a 24 1/4" span and had string busting problems. Am I measuring from the right places? Thanks.

Two weeks on a third string isn't bad. I don't know what you mean by a "customized MSA", but Maurice posted a while back that all MSA's have a 24" scale. The proper way to measure is from the top center of the roller nut to the top center of the changer finger, while looking down from the top. Also, the 12th fret should be the exact half way point.
