After several years of mothballing it, I've resurrected my Console Grande double 8. I would like to use D'Daddario flat ribbon Chrome strings as I found them to be so smooth on a lap steels. However, I'm a heavy-handed player from the 40's and I use 16, 18 and 22P for the top three and continue through for an 8 string A6 tuning.
There are now so many varieties of strings, are there some alternatives to D'Daddario for extra smooth sliding????
