I thoroughly enjoyed the tune you posted about. Personally, coming from the 'old school', I found it to be a bit to shrill for me. The creative aspect was excellent as was the technique.

Compared to others.......on this site, the others were more pleasantly mellow in tone, as I prefer to hear it.

THANKS for sharing.

Ulrich, do you come from a jazz guitar background? Real nice improvisation here. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing. Makes me want to grab my jazz box and brush up on that tune.

Nice. I have always liked that song a lot and it works well for steel. Keep it up

Karl -

yes, that's where I'm coming from.
And yet again: Tom Morrell rules!

Than you!

Thanks for this. As I side interest, I recently started playing along with Jamey Aeberold books / CDs - just the beginners stuff!
I like playing around with jazz but belong to the "old fashioned" camp that believes that there isn't much worth listening too since the '60's. (Mike Neer is going to throw rocks at me!)

But I really like what you're doing here and I like the tone you're using on this track!

Post more!

Paul, be sure to get the Django book/CD. It is the only set with rhythm guitar on it in place of keyboard. I think it has a great swing feel.

I'm playing now mostly with iReal Pro.app for mac.
It lets you adjust tempo and key, and also adjust/mute the volume of overly busy piano parts.

It's also only moderately difficult to make your own.

I like it better than BIAB.
