I'd like to get into the BooWa sound on my Gibson BR 6 by using the tone knob. As it stands the tone control is close, and the volume is far. I'm thinking of switching the tone to far (so to control it with my pinky), and disconnecting the volume control, since I always have a volume pedal connected. As well, my right hand tends to change the position of the close knob (unwittingly), so I think I'd be solving two issues.

Has anyone tried this?

I believe the pots and wiring is all original. Should I be worried about modifying it?

I can't imagine selling this steel, so I'm not worried about devaluing it.

Thanks.
