I had a great meeting last week with John Widgren.

John set up my Sho-Bud barrel-and-two-hole-puller Professional better than I thought possible. In the course of his work, John went into great detail with me about what I wanted. And--this is a first--he asked to know my height.

John's passion and precision made working with him a delight.

John is also a very friendly, generous and flexible person. When I was delayed and couldn't get to John's place until 7 PM, it was not a problem. Despite my arrival at dinnertime, John spent two hours working--at no charge!--on another Sho-Bud I had with me.

And he gave me some excellent pointers on future directions for my playing. John treated me like an old friend.

I feel thankful to have met and worked with John Widgren, a wonderful musician, luthier and person.

Never had the pleasure of meeting John when I resided in Ct. which was odd considering how small the steel guitar community is in that area. We did however have mutual acquaintances and he was always spoken of highly.

Yes; I can't praise John enough for all he has done for me. He was the first steel player I met in NYC, and the only one who took the time to help out a newbie (me) with tips on technique, tone, equipment, etc. Just the other day walked me through an adjustment over the phone on my Mullen. We're both motorcycle guys & have ridden together a couple times, too, up north & in Florida.
Harleys, pedal steel, & guitars. I mean...what else IS there??!

Back in the day when I lived in Nashville I had the best steel guitar luthiers work on my steels, now I live in Florida and make a yearly trip to Connecticut to visit family.I decided to bring my 2 steels to John for some work this year and man oh man I am so glad I did. He studied under Duane Marrs and I can honestly tell all he is a chip off the old block. His craftsmanship is second to none. For any of you North eastern players that need service THIS IS THE GUY.I also purchased a Zum from him that was set up to my exact specs and he mad sure it fit me like a glove.Thank you ever so much John.

Thanks to all for the kind words. I really appreciate all my clients and always treat them as I would like to be treated myself.

Playing wise, things tend to slow down during these winter months, so I can devote more time to working on guitars. Turn around times are very good right now and many issues can be resolved in a same day visit.

Again to all my friends and clients..thanks.

JW
