If you play C6th and use the JI method of tuning, could you tell us HOW you tune the 5th and 9th strings while engaging Pedal 5?

Curious minds want to know. Thanks soo much,

carl

I tune the 10th string, D to the 8th string A and I tune the F#s to be harmonious with the 8th, 7th, 4th and 3rd strings A and C, but I'm not fanatical about it. Any time I'm pushing the 5 pedal, I'm using a dom9 chord so if there is more 'tension' from a little out of tuneness that's acceptable to me.

After my C to B knee lever is tuned...than I tune the 5th string to F# with that "B" note....than tune the 9th string to that F# note Octive.

I agree with Ricky on the F# notes.
But I want to add another question.
The one that drives me nuts is tuning the A-Bb change.
What's the consensus, do you tune to D9+5 or Fsus4? or split the difference?

Fsus4 hands down. I use this many times more than D9+5. Aslo I use the A to Bb change a lot with pedals 5 AND 6, so it works better to favor the suspended. For me at least.

Also, I adjust the 5th and 9th strings to the 3rd string B note, after the B has been tuned to a perfect 5th with the E notes. Interesting to note that another does it this way,
