I'm getting Jim Palenscar t make me some fretboards for my Stringmaster Quad project.
He needs to know the exact dimensions of the boards.
At first I thought that, being 22.5" scale they would be exactly the same as the boards on my Dual Professional or Custom Triple guitars but having measured them, I can see that would be too wide.
I could take a reasonable guess based on the space I gave on the blank Stringmaster neck, but if someone could give me the exact dimensions, I would be very grateful.
They are tapered, by the way, so I would need the width at both ends as well as the overall length.
Many thanks in advance. |

Jeff, my short scale Stringmaster is 2.300" at the nut and 2.735" at the end of fretboard. _________________ Jerry Jones |

Thanks Jerry,
If it's not too much trouble, what's the overall length of the board? I assume it goes up to the 29th fret?
By the way, are you the same Jerry Jones that made my longhorn 6 string bass?
Regards,
Jeff |

My length is 18.125" which is somewhat arbitrary in the sense that one end needs to tuck neatly under the nut and the other includes the 29th fret line.
Hope that helps….. and yes I probably made your bass….. thanks! _________________ Jerry Jones |

Thanks Jerry,
That's really helpful.
That bass has served me well over the years - there aren't too many tic-tac bass players over this side of the pond and I've never found a Danno (or even a Fender for that matter) that I liked better.

I have some fretboards I had made for my T-8 rebuild and had extras made while I was at it. They're etched and filled aluminum just like the originals in the same style. The only difference is that mine mounts with a sticky back adhesive instead of pins. But you can drill them and use pins if you want the more vintage look. PM me if you're interested. |
