For any and all with experience on this subject: I am thinking about changing the pickups in the Super Pro that i recently bought. The reason is that the stock pickups are much to bright for my taste. I have read countless post on comparisons between wood and aluminum necks and Emmons vs Sho-Bud and since I have one of each, I'll have to say that the Sho-Bud I have and also the Sho-Bud D12 that a friend of mine has is much brighter than the Emmons. Both Sho-Buds have wood necks. I have to turn the treble down to less than half on the amp. Then It does'nt preform as well. I am looking for the sweet mellow tone that some of the old Buds have. I want a dual coil (I think). So if any of you have any ideas, I'd like to hear your openions. Thanks, Eddie

Have Jerry Wallace make you a couple of his True Tones. They're single coils and the sound is incredible IMHO. My two cents.

Eddie - I put the George L E66's in my ShoBud Pro 111 Custom. It has improved on what was already a good, balanced tone.

I had an early super-pro. I put Geo-L PF-2's in it and it was the best recording steel I ever had. I wish I'd kept it. Beautiful tone at low volumes. Good luck.

I had GeorgeL 10-1's in my Bud. I thought they were an improvement overall. It seemed to wake the guitar up.
