While I haven't done the measuring, looks like the shorter style Switchcraft quality 3 position (on/both/on)pickup selector switch that is used on the later model Sho Buds can be replaced with these, that look like exact matches. They also carry what appear to be the longer style type switches that James Morehead also carries, altho James carries the NOS in the longer variety. Here's the link:

Yes sir, looks like these Switchcraft switches are still available from Stewart MacDonald (Stewmac.com):

I need a switch for my recently acquired 1988 ShoBud Pro II. Need the shorter variety. Still need to take some measurements to confirm. They also sell the plastic knobs separately which I know some Forum members have said they are looking for.

Those switches that you have linked above, perhaps will work fine on the Super Pro era Shobuds. And that is a good find.

However, I must point out, there IS a distinct difference between the original long switch(that I sell) and those shown in the Stew-Mac link above.

Here is what the original looks like that Shobud used in the Professionals and early Pro II era guitars on up through the later Pro II Customs.

That being said, I have never tried the Stew-Mac switches, but they should work just fine, if there is enough room. I do have just a few NOS switches left, for those who want what Shobud used back in the day, and is considered the correct replacement part. The Stew-Mac switchs maybe the way to go out when I run out. John, thankyou for the link and your thoughtful consideration for us Shobud enthusiasts. Smile

The one that James Moorehead sells looks like the type Gibson used in 70's era Les Paul's. I worked on a 335 that used the shorter version. Been available at Allparts for years.

I navigated their website with no luck. Perhaps you could provide a link for a switch like I sell? I doubt anyone has the NOS switch that Shobud used, besides me.

If anyone has a source for this exact switch with 6 solder tabs, it would be beneficial to the Shobud community. Anyone?

Also, if you just need one of those hard to find threaded plastic switch KNOBS to replace the lost one on your existing and functioning original Sho Bud (Switchcraft) switch, they can be bought new here:

This is an old thread, so maybe their site changed by now, but with those new Switchcraft switches, they only have 5 connector posts, not 6 like the a traditional 3-way DPDT switches that most Sho-Buds use.

After some research I'm going to try using these 3-day DPDT switches. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JDUB4A2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm not sure if the short length will make it a pain to wire into my guitar, we'll see.

Related wiring diagram I'm trying to use with this switch: https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=324624&sid=2f0db73f40e91c937784dedb8f52599e

I haven't posted about this yet but I have been sitting on 125 pcs of the original Sho~Bud replacement switches.

I will try and get those on the website today.
This is a Switchcraft 13036 switch that was discontinued some years ago. I searched for years trying to find some and finally acquired an entire lot of them.

I also have ON-ON, and ON-OFF-ON micro switches.

Michael

That is amazing Michael... I got the modern "Switchcraft 3-way Toogle Switch" working (i.e. the Les Paul style switch), although the shape is a bit smaller and less sturdy when mounted in the guitar.

Someone who worked on my Sho~Bud Pro III had made a mess of the switch soldering, so I redid all of the wiring and soldering with the modern switch and everything is super clean now.

Maybe I'll check out your website just to have 2 extras around to keep with this historic guitar. Thanks for letting us know!
