This is a public service report for folks looking to do Fender looking Restorations.

I have a client buying a Console for his 80+ year old dad that had an original in the 60's. The Dad told him , please make it an "Off White" to remind him of his Fender.

I contacted Re-Ranch and They Suggested Gorilla Vanilla Color. They seem to have Nailed It. The Slightly yellowish tint is close enough to my eyes.

No Need to try and do a White with yellowed clear lacquer and years of waiting for it to mellow in.

Of course if your goal is an exacting Reproduction , this may not be the color for you. If like my self you want to get close 1st try, with the least effort , Gorilla Vanilla is the ticket.

Re-Ranch sells a White Primer which makes it all possible.

Here is a quick photo Hope it Translates over the Forum. Very Happy

When I refinish a Fender Stringmaster, I like to use the Fender blonde first and follow up with a few shots of tinted clear coat and then, finally, just a clear coat.

Thanks Cartwright and Erv.

The FretBoard is one of our new Lexan models, we have them back printed on the big bucks printer and then laser cut to shape.

I've got several designs now and adding more. Because they are printed the possibilities are endless.

This Lexan is textured and results in a Non Glare Surface.

For folks looking to do exacting reproduction Jim Palenscar of Steel Guitar North County , has the ones that look the most like Original Fender. Same goes with the Re Ranch paint, Erv did his more along the line of the originals.

There have been various threads about how to get the original color, so I though this Gorilla Vanilla would be a good subject to share with Forumites. Very Happy
