I went up to the Kate Wolf Music Festival this last weekend, a fun time indeed, and who did I see at one of the venues but the one and only b0b on his Desert Rose! He did a couple of sets over the weekend with his band the Rhythm Rangers. I rounded another corner a while later, there was Dave Zirbel with his band San Geronimo. I tried to get a picture of Dave behind his old ZB yesterday afternoon but there were too many cute twenty-something girls in shorts and bikini tops dancing and singing along in front of him. I didn't think anybody would want to see a picture of that (but I'm gonna have to get some tips from Dave on how to work that!). Anyway, the bands sounded great. There was another nor-cal steeler whom I haven't met, Robert Powell, who played a couple of sets with the bay area band Spark & Whisper. All in all a really fun weekend, and as always, everything is better with a little steel guitar.

Great to see you up there Ian. I had the pleasure of meeting Robert Powell for the first time after hearing his name for 20 something years. We hung out and talked shop for a few hours. Great guy and player!
