I thought Mike Johnson had a 2 piece gig bag for his P/P when I saw him in St Louis or Dallas?

What are some lighter weight options for these heavy beauties? My back ain't gettin no younger!

Check out my resent builds. Not gig bags but will help with the back situation.

Thanks

I bought an SKB rifle case for the body and a shoulder bag for a rifle to put the legs, rods and pedal bar in. Works fine. I just did a fly gig with them this week.

I have split cases that Kevin Hatton made for 2 of my pedal steels. Lightweight but sturdy, and they look good too. My Emmons D10 push pull is so much easier to transport since getting split cases.

I have a split case from Kevin Hatton. It makes life easier. Easy to lift and carry and both cases fit on my hand cart. Go back get the amp & pac-a-seat for two easy trips.

I bought split cases for me Emmons from Hugh Briley and they are a quality product, nice big handles that feel good in the hand and being split, my back suffers a lot less these days! Highly recommend his work!

I recently acquired a set of Hatton split cases for my P/P ... so much easier to carry. When you pick up the small case holding the legs, pedal rack and rods you feel a significant weight and realize by how much you've reduced the larger(body)case.
I also bought an eminence speaker from Kevin to reduce the weight of the Peavey Vegas. It's noticeably lighter now.

I sure wish Danny Bentley was making those fiberboard cases again. I need a two-piece for my guitar and a slip cover for my Telonics TC500.

Herb,I didn't know Danny wasn't making cases anymore, I was going to recommend them.
I bought his split cases for my p/p less than a year ago and I love them. Very lightweight and more protective than hard cases IMHO.
Why did he stop building cases?

A couple friends of mine called Danny and didn't get a response. Recently a knowledgeable Nashville friend said that Danny was so busy picking he didn't have the time to make cases anymore. If he is still making them, I've got some business for him. Think I'll give him a call.

Like I just did. Had a great talk with Danny, and yes, he's not building cases at the moment due to a full picking schedule. He did say that when work slows down in the Fall/Winter he'll be more available for case work.
