Last night I watched an old episode of "Walker, Texas Ranger". It was the one where he gets married. A band was playing while they were doing the wedding dance scene. They showed everyone quite a bit but the steel player got about a milliseconds worth of camera time, but he was up in the mix. Great tone and backup work. Looked and sounded like an Emmons P/P. Of coarse it was black.

Anybody else watch it and caught who it was?

I have never seen the episode, but a likely guess would be Jay Dee, especially with a black p/p.

Cool! They gave him more than usual (which is usually NO time).

I found it on YouTube to see if it was me (I was on most of the Walker Texas Ranger shows, doing underscoring and some source music).
This song is source music. Here it is:

You can see the steel player (playing guitar) at 17:34.
The singer is Tracy Lawrence and the audio is from his recording of "Just You and Me". Steel sounds right on the beat; maybe Sonny Garish?

The video doesn't look like L.A. guys so I reckon it is Tracy Lawrence's band sidelining. There are some closeups of the fiddle player, and right at the end you can see a couple of other guys.

The album that "Just You and Me" is on, does list Sonny as the steel guitar player.

Thanks Earnest, that indeed is the episode and yes at 17:34 is the split second showing of the steel player I am referring too. Nice playing, at least they didn't have him so low in the mix you couldn't hear him.
