I use the Carter charts as a guideline to rodding all guitars,,,but I make a chart for each string to make sure I don't box myself in. Each chart is a cross section of the guitar if it were sawed lengthwise AT that string position,,,hard to explain,,,easy once it is seen,,,

My only problem is that you need to bend a rod on the 4th string, as the F lever and C pedal rods would otherwise cross.

I just got done replacing the pull pins (dog bones) on my A,B, and C pedals this morning using the barrels with the socket head cap screw. I didn't have to bend any rods on the 4th string. The first rod to install is the F lever rod. It goes from the pull bar (bell crank) slot PB-1 (closest to the body of the guitar, to the #2 hole (middle hole) of the raise finger. Then the C pedal rod. It goes in pull bar slot 2 and goes into the #1 slot (farthest from the body in the raise finger. The rods never cross each other and I didn't have to bend any rods. I do have one of the little plastic rod guides that Carter used in a bell crank about half way down the guitar to keep the C pedal rod from flopping around or scraping against the F lever rod. Now granted, I did this on a Day setup guitar, but the pull bar and raise finger locations on the Emmons setup are the same. Unfortunately, I don't have an Emmons setup Carter too look closely at. I'm just picturing it in my head and see it as being the same. It may be totally different.

In the guitar I'm rodding, C pedal and F lever shafts sit 1.5 inches or less apart, with the F lever farther away. I have a friend with all the cool metalworking toys, he gave me two bends tout suite.

The distance between my C pedal and the F lever is about 4" (measuring from the bell cranks).
Are you still rodding your MSA?
