PRICE DROP TO $195 plus $25 ship.
Hi guys,
Doing some housecleaning (again) and I dug this one out of the pile. It's a somewhat rare Harmony Consolette from the mid-1950s, which was kind of a clever design in that it originally had a small tube amp inside the cabinet along with a speaker, there was a steel attached to the lid, and inside the cab also was a set of legs. The lid flips over and attaches to the cabinet for playing. When I got this many years ago (and I'm thinking it was in the late 80s), the amp and speaker were already gone. The legs are missing the bottom extensions (except for one), so you could cut some tubing to replace that if you wanted it to be taller. Pickup, which was made by DeArmond Rowe, works, and this sounds pretty good although the strings on it are lighter than you'd usually want. Checking in the paint finish, and lots of wear and tear on the tweed covering, plus lots of dust. Some of the fabric could be glued back down but not all of it. Leather handle is intact. Pretty cool piece, I think. I always intended to have a little Champ style amp built into the box but never got to it, so that might be the thing to do. WAS Offered at $250 OBO plus $25 to ship in the CONUS, NOW $195 plus $25 ship CONUS. Oustide US, contact me for a rate. Paypal is fine, money order is of course OK too. Due to work right now I can only ship on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. PM is OK but an email to jkally3@cox.net will get a quicker response.
