We had a real treat at the Station Inn again . Doug Jernigan and the rest of the band were in usual good shape . For you guys that look for real good steel guitar , it's actually all over Nashville ...seems like Monday has about 5 -6 fine players . Doug also had one of his students there , and it looks like he will be a real contender. Alex Cordell, from Co. Already working many jobs in & out of town ,,,he's one to look for . I also ran into some guys that saw Eddie Lange , and yes , he plays every intro & break on recrd . I didn't get to all the clubs , but I think Tommy , Paul and several others were on the scene.JF |

Just talked to Doug , seems like he gets questions about where the real country music is too. I'm pointing out that there really is steel guitar going on in many places in Nashville . Of course there are some joints that have that "swaing fiddle" too. If you want great singers , there are plenty of them around , at the Station , Val Story, Carl Jackson and Larry Cordle.
At 3rd & Lindsley, Paul on steel , 3 great fiddles and several vocalist , Ranger Doug, Kenny Sear, Dawn Sear, and of course Vince.
Down on Broadway, be sure to look up Tommy playing with Vince Marino , who is so good on guitar and vocals. The list goes on ...
Don't forget about Eddie Dunlap , who is starting to be a tone king , and Tommy Hannon. |
