I've got two of the Dunlop pots and these things are just bassy beyond belief. I mean I have to set my treble and presence full on with an NV 112 and even back off the bass to get some of the mud out. Has anyone here experienced this? I've installed a few pots in my time but never ran into this so what gives?

I wouldn't know what to look for with a meter. It's just too frustrating to fool with them anymore.

Your pot is wired wrong, plain and simple, and that's because the center (wiper) terminal on a Dunlop is not easily identifiable, as it is on other pots. Simply switching the cables at your pedal should fix the problem. Winking

I've swapped the wires around and get the same thing so what else can it be? I've put pots in every pedal I own and they all worked fine but not these Dunlops.

1: I agree with Donny. I gave up on the diagram and used my meter to identity terminals and wiper.
I either baked mine or allowed flux onto the bed. Resistance terminal to terminal dropped to 317K

What to measure:
Resistance term to term: should be 470K goce or take a bit wiper to terms: should go from near zero to full valye

The terminals are hard to identify. My Dunlop pots are labeled around the edge as CCW, CW, and SL.

CCW = ground
CW = input
SL = output

Hope that helps….

I wired those pots every way I knew they could be wired and they both sounded the same, real bassy and that was it for me. I got another pot that looks like a normal pot, hooked it up and the thing is fine and sounds like it should.

The Dunlop pots should be wired like this- when looking at the back of the pot, rotate until you see a face w the mouth at the bottom and the eyes at the top- then connect like the pic (apologies for my drawing)- I have not experienced the bass problem mentioned
