Input please, I understand the technical difference from a fine tuning of pedal action. From your experience is there any pro's and con's from a playability, tone, or maintenance areas.
I have been looking to buy another LG but I have never owned one of the early 4 hole types, but have seen a few for sale...
Are the rest of the parts interchangeable? Pull rods, cross rods knee levers etc.....
Are the SKH models 4 hole? _________________ Gordy Rex

Gordy, most Short Keyhead LeGrande guitars have 4 hole bell cranks. 14 hole bells will work and give you a few more choices in getting the perfect mechanical advantage. Crossbars, knee's and brackets will work on both. The SKH RKR lever is a little different though. Pull rods have the same thread but the 14 hole rods have the bend with the E clip. The SKH is easier to work on in my opinion. Either is a great guitar. _________________ Emmons D-10, ST-10,LD-10 III, NV-112,Fender Deluxe Reverb. Authorized wholesale dealer musicorp.com! |

I like the 4 hole better my self, much easier to work on, make rods for and also fine tune your pull because you can adjust slack or whatever at the bell crank. I don't like the bent pull rods with the E clips. In fact, I don't like any bent rods type design. I think most makers went that way because it is cheaper to bend rod and put a little clip on than using the brass thingamajigs that have set screw that you can adjust. _________________ Henry Matthews
