For your perusal is this nice little Fender Champion lap steel. Sorry, no case.
When I received this instrument, one of the screws on the handrest was missing. It bugged me, so I installed a matching screw. Don't even remember which one. Aside from the strings, that is the only change I have made since I purchased it.
The number stamped on the bridge is "2746," for whatever that's worth.
This guitar had its original tuners replaced at some point, and those replacements were likewise replaced with replicas of the originals by a previous owner. Please note the two extra holes.
Both controls operate flawlessly. The previous owner supplied a photo of the pots, which were coded "304221" (Stackpole, 21st week of 1952).
The guy I bought it from claimed the Champion was all original, aside from the replica Klusons. I had no reason to disbelieve him. Without taking the guitar apart, it looks straight to me, but I'm not certain I could tell one way or another.
Currently set up and strung for C6 tuning.
$460.00 shipped via USPS in the lower 48. Thanks for looking.
