Well,

I finally found an 8 string PSG. It is a D8. 4 knees and 5 pedals.

Bought it from forum member Lee Wilber. Now to figure it out Smile

I'm busy until Sunday so it is still in it's case.

Congratulations Tony. Your Pedalmaster looks great. I am a new D8 psg player too. What are your tunings and copedent? I’m definitely interested in how other people make do with what most would consider a limited instrument (i.e. D10 vs D8). Of course coming from a D8 Stringmaster I feel like a D8 psg gives plenty of options.

I have no idea what the copedent is. Sunday I will try to figure it out. I didn't even plug it in when I picked it up.

Hey Tony, just curious; What appeals to you about the concept of an 8 string PSG?

I have settled on 8 string Stingmasters as my main steel - C6 & A6 tunings. Having an 8 string PSG makes the transition to a PSG a lot easier when all 8 strings are tuned the same as my Stringmaster. I think of the PSG as "benders" for my Stringmaster. And bOb played a Desert Rose S8.

At least that is my theory. 3 years ago I was looking for a Fender 400 but gave up as the ones I found would need rebuilding and were overpriced IMHO and the knee levers were mostly home built. When I saw the PedalMaster D8 I jumped in with both feet.

I might sink but I hope i can swim.

Makes total sense, Tony. I get it! There is a lifetime of music on the Stringmaster in those tunings and a lot of really great music has been made on them. The PedalMaster D8s look like they can hold their own, for sure. Good strategy!
