Other than BE's White Album, where could I find recorded examples of "Extended E9" tunings? Meaning 12 strings, not Universal.
Perhaps some of the pros on the forum have some: b0b, Earnest, Bengt?
In fact, I think I have b0b's CD around here somewhere.

You could call BE 's E13 exp tuning an Extended E9, all the E9 notes and pulls are there. Plus the bass strings....al  |

Don't forget Buddy Cage's recordings with NRPS. He played a D-12 Emmons on those, then later played a D-12 Hilt. I don't recall hearing any low notes on the recordings though.

All of my CDs were recorded on extended E9th, except for the occassional non-pedal track.

| How about Tom Brumley? He mostly played a single-11 ZB with a low E string, I guess that qualifies as extended E9. |

Hey Joe & Al,
BE's and Tom B's extended E9 tunings neither one have the low G# string (string 11) so they wouldn't qualify for what's become commonly known as "Extended E9" although they are in fact. You lose a whole bunch of good stuff without that G#. As a matter of fact I believe if I only had an eleven string steel I'd probably go with the G# string in the 11th slot as opposed to an E like Tom B. has......
