I am looking at a Ext.E9th, 12 string. I have searched the forum archives and do not find a clear answer to my question....
Question: For a first time, and still a beginner E9th player, what would you suggest, recommend, demand as a basic, beginning set-up for Ext. E9th? This will be for a new guitar to be built for me next year.

Just take a regular 10-string E9th (at least 3 pedals + 3 knee levers), add a low G# and a low E, and have the second pedal raise the low G# to A along with the other two G# strings. Any other low string changes can be added later.
